Summary The aim of this paper is to present a new analytical approach to compute the internal stresses due to transient thermal fields through out laminate thickness within the framework of thermoelasticity,. The structures here considered are thick, laminated, anisotropic pipes of infinite length. These pipes are subjected to flux conditions on their inner and outer faces due to environmental conditions. Once the transient thermal field is determined, the thermoelastic stresses can be easily derived from the classical relations of solid mechanics.
Keywords thermoelastic stresses, transient, thick pipe, laminate, anisotropy.
